HISTORY

Ferrara’s story begins with Sammy and Shirley Ferrara, a husband-and-wife team deeply devoted to their family, their faith and each other. For about a decade, they moved around Texas so Sammy could take HVAC and refrigeration jobs to support their growing family. After so many years of chasing the work, the Ferrara’s decided to take a stand in the early 1980s.

Together, Sammy and Shirley created Ferrara’s Heating and Air Conditioning in their Lufkin, TX, garage on May 1, 1982. The company started off with five members: Sammy, Shirley and their three young children.

Under their stewardship, the business grew. The Ferrara’s reputation for honesty, integrity and excellence derives from Sammy and Shirley’s example, and countless families and companies across East Texas have turned to Ferrara’s for its exceptional work.

In late 2021, we welcomed into our family Pax-Sun Heating & Air Conditioning, a longtime competitor with a commitment to excellence that matched our own. Today, Ferrara’s employs more than 60 people and provides services across multiple counties.

We install, repair and maintain HVAC systems and refrigeration equipment for residential, commercial and industrial customers. We operate a sheet metal shop, manufacturing ducts and other equipment for our own use and for the benefit of companies in the region. Our mechanical controls group performs building automation work, giving other businesses tighter control over their facilities to better manage their energy costs.
